A Weekend Away
Last month JewishCare and JCA The Choice Foundation hosted another epic A Weekend Away trip in Palm Beach! The participants and volunteers had an amazing, relaxing time, made even more special by the sparkling weather. The weekend was filled with shared moments of cooking, enjoying the local restaurants, and basking in the beautiful surroundings.

About Us
JCA The Choice Foundation supports disability programs and projects through JCA member organisations. We create innovative new education, vocation, housing, respite and social services that enable everyone to better contribute to and benefit from the community we all share.
The Choice Foundation has long recognised the need to create belonging and connection for people living with a disability. The programs we fund help foster mental & emotional wellness, as we strive to give all people more choices in how they want to live their lives. We make a commitment to each program that we invest in, to stand alongside them and nurture their ideas and help the programs to flourish.

The Choice Foundation Proudly funds the current Programs:
1. Upskill- Facilitated skill building events aimed at Upskilling participants to guide them to further enhance life and employment skills
2. A Weekend Away - Monthly getaways to holiday homes generously donated by community members for all abilities to create lasting memories. A favourite of all of the programs.
3. J-Jobs - A role that has been funded at JewishCare to ensure that Choice members are offered customised employment opportunities and that organisations are guided in supporting all abilities to work in their workplaces.
4. Surfs UP - A safe and fun surf lesson one a month through summer to develop the love of the ocean and to socialise with friends. Located at Bondi one Sunday a month from November to March
5. Pathways - An opportunity for 1:1 support in team support whereby a Maccabi staff will match you with a volunteer to ensure no one misses out on playing team sports at school and beyond.
6. Brave Talks - Brave Talks was an idea born of the desire to heal through community. To bring stories into the light that would otherwise remain hidden; jointly holding a space of safety and a capacity to know that true healing can come from being heard. Now more than ever, our community needs these conversations.
7. School Support at Kesser Torah College, Masada College and Emanuel School - Differing supports available to schools as per their needs to allow for better inclusion and teachings in mainstream schools.
8. New Dimensions Social Club - Social outings with young adults with ADHD, Autism level 1, or for people who find it difficult making friends. An opportunity to develop leadership and friendships by going out to different social events. For 15-17 year olds and 18-21 year olds.
